glenn
I'm Glenn: designer, painter and builder of businesses.
For thirty years I've helped people in New Zealand, Australia and beyond turn challenges into ideas, and ideas into things that work, like brands, books, products and digital tools.

Let's solve the right problem first.
Creative thinking. Thirty years of business and creative experience, pointed at the problem you actually have rather than the one you assumed. That means research, testing whether an idea holds up, and making sense of the numbers before money gets spent. I use AI to move faster here. Deciding what's right is still my call.
Creative doing. I turn the idea into something finished and real: a brand, a book, a product, a website or an app. I design and build it myself. AI is one of my tools for shaping ideas and building sites and apps, but it doesn't replace the design or the eye you're hiring me for.
Principles
- 01
Why before what.
The brief is a starting point, not the answer.
- 02
I'll challenge you.
Respectfully, and from experience, not just to please you.
- 03
No upselling.
I won't sell you what you don't need, even if it means a smaller job.
- 04
Then I make it real.
Thinking only matters once it turns into something finished.

Things I've built
I've done a fair few projects over the years. If something here catches your eye, or you'd like to see work closer to your own situation, say the word and I'll put a custom portfolio together for you.
Ask for a custom portfoliothe other half of the work
I paint large-format oils in a pop surreal style. I've been a finalist several times in the Bay of Plenty and Molly Morpeth Canvas awards, and my work is held by galleries in Dunedin, the Bay of Plenty and Hawke's Bay.

questions, answered
- What do you actually do?
- I help you work out the right thing to make, then I make it. That might be a brand, a book, a product and its packaging, or a website or app.
- Who do you work with?
- Businesses, founders, artists and organisations with something real to build, in New Zealand and overseas. If you just need a quick flyer, I'm probably not the best fit.
- How do you use AI?
- It's useful in the thinking, for research, testing ideas and sorting data. In the doing, it helps me shape ideas and build sites and apps faster. It's a tool. The judgement, design and originality are mine.
- What's your background?
- Thirty years in design, print and web technology. I've built and sold two creative businesses in Australia and New Zealand. I hold a Level 7 Diploma in Fine Art, a trade certificate, and certificates in display, advertising and small business.
- How does pricing work?
- Every project is different, so I don't do packages. Tell me what you're trying to achieve, we'll have a conversation, and I'll give you a fixed quote.
- Where are you based?
- The Bay of Plenty. I work remotely with clients across New Zealand and internationally.
