The brief
Each year we wanted to take a series of Claire’s paintings and illustrations and turn them into something people would live with every day, not just look at once. The calendar had to show the artwork at its best and also work hard as a practical calendar: large enough to see from across the room, sturdy enough to last the year, and with plenty of space to write.
The outcome
The calendar features 12 of Claire’s works plus a cover image, printed on quality stock. It’s A4 when closed and opens to 594 × 210 mm, with the artwork on top and a full A4 date pad below for the dates that matter. It’s wiro bound and hole punched, ready to hang. It is now in its third year, and every edition has sold out. Many people buy several copies to give as gifts, and we now get asked well in advance whether next year’s edition is coming, and when.
